Posters & Locating Regulations
Maryann Durrant (USBE):
There are two posters that must be displayed in a location easily seen by those who enter your facility. If an organization sponsors more than one site each site must have them displayed as well. One is the “…And Justice For All”, poster which is discussed in further detail in the civil rights training, the second is the “Building For the Future Poster”. There is a third flyer which may be either displayed or distributed to all parents and this is the WIC and You flyer. Most organizations post the WIC and You flyer which includes the current WIC rates. You only need to display the side that has the current rates listed. The WIC rates change each July and you’ll need to update the flyer each year when it changes. Our office will send a copy of the new WIC and You flyer each July to be posted/distributed. If you operate an adult care center, you don’t need to display or distribute a WIC poster.
There are a lot of regulations relating to the food program and these regulations get updated and changed as needed. As a sponsor on the food program, you are responsible for following the regulations, no matter what. Even if there is staff turn over, family emergencies, missing trainings, etc. One of our responsibilities as a state agency is to make sure that you have access to the most current regulations. It’s very important that we have an email address for the individual over the food program at your facility. It’s also very important that the individual checks this email and reads through the information that we send. You’ll receive both memos from our office. Memos are new or updated regulations. Please read through and make sure that you understand the correspondence that you receive from our office. There are also handbooks that have been put together by the USDA that can be very helpful in operating the food program. Please use the resources available to you in operating the food program. In addition, our on-line trainings are a great resource for accessing the latest information that is available to us. Please utilize all of the resources available to you in operating the food program.
